Each time we visit Fredericksburg we eat brekfast at Rathskeller. They do a good job cooking breakfast. Like the history of the place too.

First time in Fredericksburg, and this place was a great first stop! The atmosphere was very cozy and intimate. Our server, Jorge, was great and checked on us frequently! The food and drinks were really good, and we were served our food so fast too!

The food was awesome! Service was great! Ambiance soothing! The only thing that can improve is more restrooms. Having just one is inconvenient

The wife and I decided to drive up to Fredericksburg today to get out of the house. After walking half the strip, we decided to try our Rathskeller Bistro which is in the basement of Das Küche shop which is an old hospital. I ordered their Bloody Mary (spicy) to start off with a class of water. It was really good The wife ordered the Turkey Bacon Melt with fries. She only ate half the sandwich and pulled the velvety cheese off because it wasn't really melted into the sandwich like she wished it was. I tried it and it was kind of plain but tasty. I think the sandwich would have been much better if the cheese was melted into the sandwich and they used provolone or pepper jack cheese. So only 3 stars for this sandwich. I had the Kraut plate which came with two halves of two different sausages and a small portion of jäger schnitzel, German potatoes, pickled beets and sauerkraut. I absolutely loved this plate and I highly recommend. Oh and the stone ground mustard was really good! It will definitely clear out your sinuses so go lightly. The service was really good and we didn't have any wait to get a table and short wait for the food

This was one of the few restaurants open on a Sunday evening in Fredericksburg. They mostly have German food and a little bit of American and Italian. I had the fettuccine alfredo for $13, and it came with a small breadstick. I did not opt to add $6 for chicken. I finished the whole plate, and I was quite full. It was good. I tried my friend's pasta crudo, which was considerably worse as the canned tomatoes tasted very canned, and the pasta was watery. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. Our waitress was sweet and gave us extra plates for sharing.

We had an amazing dinner here. The brats! The Kraut! The Schnitzel!!! We were greeted and seated immediately (party of 6). A smiling gentleman got our drink order served in minutes. Our server was friendly, efficient and had our dinners in front of us so quickly, we were shocked (but thrilled as we were all very hungry.) We split a few peach bread puddings but the dessert menu had me wishing I could try most of the desserts. I will have to return for a creme brulee soon! I didn't get pictures. We actually dined a bit later than planned (long travel day as we all came in from different parts of Texas) so I simply dug in. I will be back though so hopefully can get a few pictures of the amazing flavorful food!)
